Clifton Boschetti

Children

I hold a special interest in working with children, following years of instrumental music teaching, wellbeing within a school setting, working with children from refugee backgrounds, and raising my own beautiful children.

When working with children, I use a mix of play and creative-based approaches alongside practical interventions to see measurable reductions in the frequency, intensity and duration of challenging behaviours.

I work collaboratively with parents and, if consent is given, with schools and other involved professionals for best outcomes.

I can support primary school-aged children with:

  • grief and loss

  • family separation

  • friendship issues

  • self-esteem and self-confidence

  • mild-medium anxiety

  • general worries

  • trauma background

  • behavioural problems such as anger outbursts, tantrums, fighting and defiance

Adolescents

Young people today face so many challenges, distractions, opportunities, choices and complexities that life can easily become overwhelming. Following years of music teaching and working in wellbeing within a school setting, as well as raising my own beautiful children, I engage young people with warmth and respect.

When working with young people, I use a mix of non-judgemental support and deep listening; psychoeducation and  practical strategies that help them help themselves; and creative approaches to make sense of their inner lives.

With the consent of the young person, I work collaboratively with parents, with schools and other involved professionals for best outcomes.

I can support young people with:

  • grief and loss

  • family separation

  • friendship/relationship issues

  • self-esteem and self-confidence

  • mild-medium anxiety and depression

  • general stress and worries

  • school-based concerns

  • trauma background

Adults

Difficult times in our lives present opportunities to learn more about ourselves and others; to deepen, stretch or grow aspects of ourselves; to see ourselves with compassion; to recognise unhelpful patterns and create new helpful styles of relating to ourselves, others and the world around us. Counselling provides “a space between” the busyness and noise of our every day lives. This is a time just for you to explore, to make meaning, to be curious, to be creative, to develop new skills, to open yourself to new possibilities and choices with the support of a caring, trained professional.

I can support adults across the life spectrum with:

  • relationship issues

  • grief and loss, including major life transitions

  • family separation

  • self-esteem and self-confidence

  • mild-medium anxiety, depression and stress

  • general stress and worries

  • work-based concerns

  • parenting

  • trauma background
